Mission Blue, founded by oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle, is a global initiative focused on protecting the ocean through the creation of "Hope Spots," areas critical for marine biodiversity and ecosystem health. The organization raises awareness, collaborates with governments, communities, and organizations, and promotes the establishment of marine protected areas (MPAs) to ensure the long-term preservation of ocean life. By spotlighting these vital regions, Mission Blue aims to inspire action and foster sustainable practices to safeguard the ocean's future.
